Shop management engineered for the independent repair shop

One refined workflow for the writer, the technician, and the manager — board, repair order, inspection, schedule, payroll. Every job opens with the labor, parts, and tech already on the page, drawn from your shop’s own history of doing the work.

002 — Manifesto

One model. Everything paired on the page.

We sit inside the daily work of independent repair shops — service writers, technicians, managers — and built the system to match how the work actually happens.

Every shop already does the same kinds of jobs every day — brake jobs, oil changes, diagnostics. The data those jobs generate is the most accurate description of how your shop does that work: which parts you actually use, which technicians you assign, what time-to-ready you actually deliver, what closes at what price.

We bring that history into the workflow. When a job opens, the labor (your shop’s average for this make), the parts (your usual fitment and grade), the technician with availability, and the standard book time are already on the page. Three sources, one model — paired before the writer reads it.

Open a brake job on a 2014 GL-Class and the labor (2.6h average over 19 jobs on this make), the pads (your usual), the rotors, the clips, the fluid, and the technician with availability are already there. The writer reads. The writer doesn’t stitch.

003 — What it does

Four things the workflow handles for you.

Three sources, one job.

Brake job on a 2014 GL-Class. Your shop’s average labor: 2.6h. Your usual pads (19× on this make). Tech with availability: Diego, Senior. All on the page when the job opens.

No canned jobs to maintain.

Your RO history is the catalog. Search a labor item; the system shows fit-to-vehicle confidence, factory time, your shop’s actual hours, and how often you’ve done it on this make.

Pricing without the spreadsheet.

One slider walks tech tier, parts grade, and ready-by time together. Total and margin update live; tier picks the time slot tied to vendor ETA and bay capacity.

Inspection that closes in the bay.

14-system grid on the tech’s phone. Pass / Attention / Fail per system; photos and notes attach to the RO live. Closes in the bay, not after.

004 — Otto

Otto listens, walks, and takes action.

Otto is a session-aware assistant in the shell of every page. He listens to the call, walks the inspection by voice, and takes actions in the side panel. Recommends, then signs only when the human says so.

  • Live triage on the call. Otto transcribes the conversation and extracts concerns into structured symptoms — paired to labor and parts before the writer opens the RO.
  • Walkthrough in the bay. Tech opens the inspection; Otto starts a voice session. Walk the car, talk through findings; Otto captures Pass / Attention / Fail and attaches photos to the RO.
  • Chat that takes action. From the side panel, Otto opens the right RO, summarizes the board, drafts a job, queues a part order. Every action is logged and authorized by a human.
005 — Pricing

Price it from the shop floor.

Drag one slider — Budget to Premium — and labor tier, parts grade, and ready-by time move together. Lock anything along the way; the slider walks the rest around it.

  • Mobile first. Built for a phone in the bay. The picker rises from the bottom; the slider sits in your thumb’s path.
  • Three sources, one slider. Factory times, parts grades and vendor ETAs, and your shop’s own job history all walk together. Pull one — pull all three.
  • Live total & margin. Total and profit margin update as you slide. The margin bar tips amber under 45%, red under 30%.
  • Ready-by, not “we’ll see.” Tier picks the time slot too — tied to vendor ETA and bay capacity.

006 — In the shop

The shop floor, captured.

Live screens from the system in production. Customer data anonymized; everything else is what’s on the technician’s screen right now.

Workflow board: Estimates, Repair Orders, and Posted Invoices in three live columns.

Workflow board — live tile view

  • Three columns, one shop. Estimates, Repair Orders, Posted Invoices — the day in one view.
  • Status that means status. Pending Auth, Awaiting Parts, Order Parts, Posted. Each tile carries the next action.
  • Live counts. Per-lane totals update as the day moves.
  • Search anything. Phone, VIN, RO number, customer, payment type — one box.
Repair-order detail: customer, vehicle, advisor, status, jobs panel with labor + parts breakdown, totals, and activity feed.

Repair order — one surface, every workflow

  • Customer + vehicle on the masthead. Phone, email, VIN, advisor, status — always a glance away.
  • Seven tabs, one URL. Estimate, Inspection, Parts, Labor, Notes, History, Payment.
  • Labor and parts ledger. Each job rolls up its own subtotal next to the line items.
  • Activity feed. Every change is logged; the trail is the audit.
Job Explainer: search the labor catalog and see fit confidence, factory time, average rate, times-used count, and 'often done with' co-occurrence percentages.

The work, the manual, and the catalog — paired in one panel

  • Confidence, not guesswork. Fit-to-vehicle percentage comes from the shop’s own RO history; Verified means a shop in your network has done this exact job on this exact make.
  • Factory number, shop number. Published time alongside your shop’s actuals. Two sources, one row.
  • Times Used: 17,768. Posted across the network’s ROs — what’s normal for this job, on this make, at this kind of shop.
  • Often done with. Co-occurrence percentages from real ROs — pair-this-with-that, derived from work shops actually do.
Vehicle inspection: 14 system cards (tires, brakes, suspension, etc.) with progress meter and pass / attention / fail counts.

Inspection — system by system, in the bay

  • Fourteen systems, one grid. Tires, brakes, suspension, engine bay, transmission, differential, cooling, lighting, exterior, code scan.
  • Pass / Attention / Fail. Three states, color-coded; counts roll up to the RO.
  • Progress meter. 0/42 across categories — the tech sees what’s left without leaving the screen.
  • Findings attach to the RO. Photos and notes flow back to the job, not into a folder.
